Course Description

Overview

The Common Management Admission Test (CMAT) is a National Level Entrance Examination known as the CMAT. The CMAT Exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) every year to admit candidates to various management programs in India. This test facilitates AICTE affiliated/participating institutions to admit suitable graduate candidates to the Management Courses in such Institutions. This exam offers MBA admission opportunities in more than 1000 MBA Institutes in India and among them are some of the prominent Management Institutes. Eligibility criteria

Here are the eligibility criteria for the CMAT exam:

1. Nationality: The candidate must be a citizen of India.

2. Educational Qualification: The candidate must have a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university or institution. Final year students of bachelor’s degree courses can also apply.

3. Minimum Marks: The candidate must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwD category candidates) in their bachelor’s degree.

There is no age limit for appearing in the CMAT exam.

Exam pattern

CMAT exam will be of 400 marks with a total of 100 questions. Candidates must refer to the CMAT exam pattern before sitting for the CMAT exam to strategically attempt the questions.

  1. Every correct answer will earn 4 marks.
  2. For each incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted from the total score.
  3. Unanswered/un-attempted will be given no marks.
  4. In case a Question is dropped in CMAT  exam due to some technical error, full marks shall be given to all the candidates irrespective of the fact who have attempted it or not.

How to apply

Here are the steps to apply for the CMAT exam:

1. Visit the official website of CMAT (https://cmat.nta.nic.in/) and click on the “New Registration” button.

2. Enter your name, email ID, phone number, and create a password. Click on the “Submit” button.

3. You will receive an email and SMS with the application number and login credentials.

4. Login to the application form using the application number and password.

5. Fill in the personal, academic, and communication details in the application form.

6. Upload the scanned images of your photograph and signature in the specified format and size.

7. Review the application form and click on the “Final Submit” button.

8. Pay the application fee through online mode using credit/debit card, net banking, or UPI.

9. After successful payment, download and take a printout of the application form and fee receipt for future reference.

It is important to note that the application process for the CMAT exam is online only, and there is no offline mode of application. The application fee for General and OBC candidates is Rs. 2000/-, while for SC/ST/PwD candidates, it is Rs. 1000/-.
