Course Description

Overview

RRB ALP is a national exam conducted by Railway Recruitment Board. The exam is held to recruit eligible candidates for Assistant Loco Pilot and other technical posts. RRB ALP recruitment is announced as per the requirement in the zonal railways. RRB ALP notification is expected to be released later this year. It is a popular exam among aspirants as it offers good career opportunities.

RRB ALP exam is yet to be announced by the authorities. Railway Recruitment Board is expected to release the latest RRB ALP notification soon on the official website. Hence, candidates should keep an eye out for the latest updates regarding the exam. Since this is a national-level exam, lakhs of candidates participate in it. Aspirants who have completed their matriculation can apply for RRB ALP exam. It is held in 12 languages which include English, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, Bengali, Assamese, Malayalam, Tamil, Marathi, Manipuri, Urdu and Konkani.

The RRB ALP consists of two main stages – CBT 1 and CBT 2. Candidates who qualify in both stages will move on to the Computer-Based Aptitude Test or the CBAT. Eligibility criteria

The candidates who apply for the post of RRB ALP and RRB Technician must have the following minimum educational qualifications to be eligible for the respective posts:

RRB ALP Age Limit

The age of the applicants for the post of RRB ALP, and Technician must be within the age limit as specified below:

RRB ALP Stage 3 Exam Pattern

The final stage of RRB ALP has the computer-based aptitude test (CBAT). After clearing both papers, students can appear for Paper number 3. Only the Assistant Loco-Pilot aspirants are required to attend this test.

RRB ALP CBT 2 Syllabus

RRB ALP CBT 2 syllabus is provided here for the benefit of candidates. It consists of four subjects – GK, Maths, Reasoning and Basic Engineering and Science. For CBT 2, candidates must have a thorough knowledge of the following topics.

  • Maths: LCM, HCF, Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, Square Root, Age Calculations, Mensuration, Time and Work, Distance, Percentages, Interest, Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry, Calendar & Clock, etc.
  • Logical Reasoning: Blood relations, Arguments and Assumptions, Coding-Decoding, Similarities and Differences, Syllogism, Venn Diagram, Jumbling, Analogies, Series, Data Interpretation, Conclusions and Decision Making, Analytical reasoning, Statement, etc.

The candidates have to mandatorily pay the required application fee while filling out their RRB ALP application form. Failure to pay the amount will lead to the rejection of your application.

How to apply

Step 1: Visit the official website of RRB and go to the other RRB page, https://www.rrbcdg.gov.in/other-rrb.php

Step 2: At your RRB regional website, click on the notification of the RRB ALP & Technician Notification.

Step 3: Register yourself for the exam with the personal details required.

Step 4: For registration, open the page and fill in your basic details, for example, your name, your parent’s name, contact information, mail-id etc.

Step 5: As you click on submit button, you will receive an OTP. Kindly process it.

Step 6: After the OTP is validated, process the generated mail for login credentials.

Step 7: Log in with the credentials and provide the details asked by the application.

Step 8: Pay the required application fee as mentioned by the board.

Step 9: Download the copy of the RRB ALP application and take out a hard copy to save it for further use.

  • What is the eligibility criteria for the RRB ALP exam?
    The eligibility criteria for the RRB ALP exam are as follows: – Candidates must have passed class 10th or equivalent examination from a recognized board. – Candidates must have a diploma or degree in Engineering or relevant field from a recognized institution. – The age limit for the RRB ALP exam is 18 to 30 years, however, age relaxation is given to certain categories.
